Who is therapy for?

If you are having difficulties in any area of your life, it is likely that speaking about them in a safe and non-judgemental space will be helpful.

The types of difficulties that people seek therapy for include low mood, anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, painful emotions, upsetting or intrusive thoughts, pain, trauma, unexplained feelings and many more.

Schema therapy particularly focuses on unmet childhood needs-that is things that went wrong in childhood, which often still affect us in  the present, despite how much we have tried to move on. Often we cannot fully move on until we have dealt with what is holding us back.

Therapy can also teach practical skills to help reduce and manage distressing experiences. Many of these skills are mindfulness based which is a helpful skill that can benefit  most people in their lives.

Therapy is about addressing and healing and moving forward. The approaches I use are designed to foster independence and growth, with the ultimate goal, the completion of therapy.
